British Nigerian Singer songwriter Eyitemi’s sound stretches past generic Soul, weaving in a diverse range of music influences from Jazz, Gospel to Hip Hop, Afro, Folk and laid back funk. Musical inspirations range from legends Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder to favorites Jill Scott, Erykah Badu and India Aire She burst into the jazz music scene as passionate advocate and promoter of UKs most exciting unsigned acts and went on to spend 2 years as panel judge in the innovation category of BBC Jazz Awards. EyiTemi writes songs that resonate and dig beneath the surface; articulating complicated life experiences in a way that still leaves people feeling light, free and motivated. With a heart rooted in Jazz, EyiTemi walks a path that is comfortably and firmly, her own. Her music is personal, self written and rich with intention…’I feel I have a voice that is relevant in my piece of earth and my ambition is to express this honestly through my music’ In September 2024, EyiTemi released her 3rd album (and first full album), Kaleidoscope. This album was recorded live with her band at the iconic Rockfield Studios in Wales - self released under her record label, J’noir Records. In this album, she for the first time take on producing duties, co-producing the album. |
